Hiking, biking, kayaking or enjoying culinary delights? There is a lot to experience in surroundings of Hastière. Below, you find some suggestions. Of course we are happy to give you more information. In our hallway you can also find lots of brochures and hiking and biking maps.

 

 Nature

 

The caves of Pont d’Arcole

A true geological miracle that was created in the course of time by the water of the Féron river, a small affluent of the Meuse river. Definitely worth a visit!

The travertine stone of Hastière

You find the travertine limestone on the right bank of the Meuse river. It is considered to be the most spectacular stock of travertine in Belgium. Starting from our B&B you can make a nice walk that guides you along the dam, the travertine stone and the abbey church of Hastière (+/- 75min).

The gardens of Annevoie

These are the only watergardens in Belgium and they ought to be among the most beautiful in Europe. Discover these 18th century gardens where natural charm comes first. The gardens are gorgeous in every season.

Furfooz

Furfooz is mainly known for the prehistoric findings in the numerous caves in the area. In Furfooz park, you can visit the remains of an old Roman camp.

The castle of Freÿr

One of the typical castles alongside the Meuse river with spacious gardens that are very special because of the three hundred years old orange trees and orangeries .

Maison du Patrimoine in Hastière

Exhibition of utensils from our nostalgic childhood nearby our B&B.

Dinant, the city of the saxophone

With, among other things, the citadel, the birthplace of Adolphe Sax and the Maison de la Pataphonie.

Bouvignes

A museum village along the Viroin river and nearby the French border where, amongst other things, you can find a beautiful train museum.

The abbey of Maredsous

You have lots of options: a walk in the surroundings of Maredsous, a visit to the abbey or a cheese and beer tasting.

You can find the hiking map of Hastière in our hall. We are happy to inform you about walks that we have made ourselves. Watch out: during the hunting season some walkways are closed. Ask us for more information about it!

An interactive museum where you can discover the history and taste the beers.

Snail farm of Warnant

The snail farm offers a guided tour that gives insight in the life and cultivation of snails that are to be served as edible escargot. Highly recommended!

Ostrich farm “du Pont d’Amour”

The ostrich steak that we serve in our table d’hôtes comes from this farm! It looks like a beef steak, but contains less fat and is more tender.
